Facials and chemical peels are another way to return your skin’s healthy glow! As I’m sure you know what facials & peels are, I’m just going to give you a brief overview of what they are and the options, followed by best practices for helping that glow last as long as possible.

 

Facials

Facials are a common go-to for relaxation, but they can also do great things for your skin. Tailored to your skin type whether you have aging skin, acne, or anything in-between, facials exfoliate skin gently enough for even sensitive skin. Infusing a lot of moisture, enzymes and antioxidants into skin, you will leave feeling & looking refreshed. With no downtime, facials are great for perking up your skin before events or while on vacation.

 

Chemical Peels

If you are looking for a stronger effect, chemical peels would be the next best option. They can range from “lunch time peels” (peels that are quick & gentle enough for you to go back to work immediately afterwards) like the Enzyme Peel to deeper peels that cause your skin to visibly peel skin off over a few days, such as the Perfect Derma Peel. These peels use some of the same active ingredients in your skin care products, but professional-grade and in higher concentrations which allows for a much faster & stronger change in your skin. Gentler peels may be done in combination with microdermabrasion or regular facials.

 

Best Practices – you can make the effects of your facial or peel last by:

*Using gentle exfoliating ingredients (such as glycolic or salicylic acid) daily

*Protecting your skin from the sun. Sun damage is a main cause of skin discoloration (even when it’s not the main cause, it often exacerbates the problem) and can cause irritation to newly peeled skin.

*Keep skin moisturized. Moisturized skin looks & feels smoother & healthier.

 

*Trying mild, at-home masks, facials & peels. The in-office treatments do a lot of the heavy lifting, but using at-home options may help maintain the effects in-between. Ask your physician or esthetician for recommendations for your skin type to avoid using one that’s right for your skin type.
